For those who are interested, especially anyone considering the Peace Corps themselves, I'm happy to share a bit about my experience in applying for and accepting an invite.
- 10/30/17: begin application for Peace Corps community development position in Macedonia
- 11/6/17: notification - according to how I self-reported for basic health history information, I would likely be eligible for a placement in any country
- 11/21/17: submit application for community development position
- 11/21/17: application under review
- 12/6/17: phone interview
- 12/6/17: reference 1 submitted
- 12/10/17: reference 2 submitted
- 1/1/18: Macedonia applications officially due
- 1/17/18: invitation for Macedonia - community development position issued
- 1/18/18: accepted invitation
- 2/2/18: legal background check initiated
- 3/19/18: last of medical paperwork submitted and received
- 3/19/18: legal clearance granted!
- May '18: review of uploaded medical paperwork begins
- Early June '18: extra/follow-up medical tasks issued & information submitted
- 6/15/20: additional follow-up medical tasks completed
- 6/18: medical and dental clearance granted!
- 6/25: received email with new tasks (non-medical, non-legal) - due 7/6
- 7/23: received email with new onboarding tasks - due 8/6
- 7/24: received email with survey, more information, resources
- 8/2: received email with access to online learning platform for access to additional resources
- 8/13: received email with staging information
- 9/20: fly to Washington, DC for staging
- 9/21: staging! The last step stateside before we go! :)
- 9/22: fly to Vienna
- 9/23: fly to Macedonia!
